The weather may be getting colder but the social scene for the Irish in Sweden certainly isn’t, and there are a number of annual events happening in the near future that you need to get in your calendar!

First up is the Swedish-Irish Society’s Ghost Walk & Halloween Party in Stockholm, which takes place on Söder in Stockholm on Nov. 4. Join the society for a spooky guided ghost trail around Södermalm, and then move on to a party with traditional Halloween games! You can book your spot at one of the scariest and most enjoyable autumn events here.

Next up is the high point of the year for the irish Chamber Of Commerce in Sweden, who will be holding their gala dinner on Dec. 2 in Stockholm with the support of Jones Engineering. As is the case with many Irish businesses operating here, the ICCS is experiencing fantastic growth and the night will be a celebration of that success, culminating in the presentation of the Beacon Award – you can find out all the details and nominate a candidate for the Beacon Award at the ICCS website.

This year the Swedish-Irish-Society will host two Christmas parties, with the traditional Stockholm event joined by a very welcome addition to the calendar in Malmö, which will take place in Fagan’s Pub. Both events take place on Dec. 9 and again the details can be found on the society’s events page.
Our musicians will of course continue to travel the highways and byways of the Nordic region, entertaining in the various pubs – make sure to follow Loughy, Brian O’Connor, Brian Burns, Ian Moloney and many more on Facebook, where you’ll find regular updates about their upcoming gigs.
