“Irish In Sweden” started out as a post-pandemic podcast to showcase the Irish community and give us something to gather around, produced and presented by Philip O’Connor, an Irish journalist has lived in Sweden for over 20 years.

On St. Patrick’s Day 2023 at the annual lunch hosted by the Irish Chamber Of Commerce in Sweden, a conversation was had between leading businesses, diplomats, the state agencies and community groups, Philip came up with the idea of creating a website to complement the podcast and provide an online platform for the Irish community in Sweden to gather around.
The site and the podcast serve the same purpose – to bring Irish people in Sweden together, to provide information to the community about life in Sweden, and to promote Irish business, culture and sport here.
The podcast and website take time and money to produce and maintain and they are supported financially by Wirströms Pub in Gamla Stan, the Irish Chamber of Commerce, and Lynas Foods, and private individuals can become monthly sponsors on Patreon.
Company sponsorship would be greatly appreciated – to get involved, email philip [at] eblana.se.
