There was a strong Irish presence once again as the Supermarket Art Fair opened at StadsgÄrdsterminalen near Slussen on Wednesday for a run that will last until Sunday, with everything from Fakir sandals to works around reproductive justice taking centre stage from the Irish contingent.
Limerick-based Ormston House are on site with an exhibition by Jennifer Trouton that explores the theme of abortion in Ireland north and south in a nuanced and fascinating collection of works.

On the ground floor Interface, headed up by former Stockholm resident and regular visitor Alannah Robins, are represented by Galway artist Noel Arrigan and Ian Weiczorek from Belmullet – Noel’s Fakir sandals, with nails pointing upwards through the soles, attracted a lot of attention during his performances, and Ian’s intriguing selection of 40 sunrises from around the world on the same day during Ireland’s Covid lockdown have already provoked plenty of discussion.
The fair runs until Sunday and is well with a visit – you can hear a special bonus podcast made on the opening night at the event here:
